1st Communion Parent Meeting

There was an error on the notes sent home about parent meeting it will be held on the 28th, which is a Sunday not the 27th. Sorry for the inconvenience.

First Week Of Classes

Our school year has started and the classes are filled with eager learners. This year we are excited to have a preschool class taught by Celia Webb. She has several of her Confirmation students helping her. Her assistants are Katie Briley, Pam Gean, Anna Morgan Harrington (7th grade), and Jared Rabren. Yesterday, the class was sighted walking down the hallway to the church to learn to bless themselves with Holy Water!

Wednesday night was packed full of students. Each Wednesday night we close with 1o minutes of fellowship and 5 minutes of prayer circle, or in Wednesday nights case a prayer oval. Leonard Temple, energized from a year off from Wednesday night teaching, led the Our Father. There is something very powerful about having approximately 75 teenagers holding hands and praying. Just one of the many reason to continue sending your children on Wednesday night, the power of prayer and the need to relate to those that share their same faith.

Please remember to fill out any paper work that was sent home and to talk with your children about what they learned.

***THERE IS A MANDATORY MEETING, THIS WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 17TH, FOR PARENTS WITH CHILDREN PREPARING TO MAKE THEIR CONFIRMATION. THE MEETING WILL BE AT 7:00 IN THE SOCIAL HALL.

Pot Luck

Wow! What a huge turn out to our beginning of the RE school year kick off. The entire social hall was filled with people waiting to taste the delicious dishes made by the families in attendance. I have attended 3 years of pot lucks and have never seen so many people. Thanks to all of the teachers that helped make this event successful, the parents that supported their children and created dishes to share and the students that give us this reason to join together in great fellowship. If you were not able to attend last night dont worry there will be an end of the year bash to celebrate our success.

Welcome to Queen of Peace Religious Education site. This will be a great place to find information about upcoming Religious Education events, such as classes and meetings. My hope for this site is to help keep parents, teachers and students informed. Please visit often as I will try to update on a weekly basis. Also included is a bible quote of the day. This would be a great place to visit daily with your children to search for that bible quote and discuss it.
